Three Day Week!

This week we only have school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday!
I have the Heartland Convention this Thursday and Friday at Dordt. Ken Miedema is coming to speak. Its weird that now I have to go to the convention, when before I used to get school off!

Today was a pretty good day! This morning my class joined with Mrs. Vander Veen's 3rd/4th grade class. We are doing a short unit on Johnny Appleseed together. Wednesday we are teaching them how to make apples pies...well little baby apple pies. I will let you know how they turn out!

I got my Marcy Cook Math Tiles in the mail today!!! I am so excited! I taught the kids how to use the first ones. They are going to be great for differentiation! :)

Today while I was in the classroom it hit me again how much I love what I am doing. I love when this happens. It all of a sudden hits me and I just sit and smile for a little while. hehe

However...something that my class needs to work on is....RAISING THEIR HAND!
I think maybe tomorrow I will put little stones into a vase everytime someone says something without raising their hands. I am not going to tell them what I am doing. Just randomly I will put a stone in...maybe the visual will be helpful. Any thoughts?!

This weekend was grand! Friday night I got to see Dustin VanderHaar for a little while which was amazing. It made me really miss Janelle though :(

Saturday I worked at school for a bit and then helped Ashley move. I also remembered that Subway existed! I was super excited when that happened! Not having a subway in town and not having TV cuts back on things hardcore haha. At night Myers, Belty, Ashley and I went and played volleyball and basketball at my school for a while! Then we just hung out and such.

Sunday I went to church and then went to Belty's to watch football. Man..as much as I root against the Vikings...that was an amazing ending. I was frustrated because the BEARS game was not playing out here! Thankfully they won!

What a good weekend and a great start to the week! Hopefully it progresses nicely!!
