4 Days

FOUR DAYS TIL SCHOOL!?!?!
I have my moments of complete panic and then I am calm.
panic..calm...panic...calm....
I just have no idea how the first day will go! I need to teach them routines and rules and important stuff like fire drills and where to go in case of a tornado. I am in charge of 8 children. Their little minds and well-beings are in my hands. okay..I am being a little bit dramatic :)
I think once the first day is over I will have more of an idea as to where to go...but right now I feel like I am blind.

Yesterday and today we had inservices. Yesterday was all at Inwood Christian and we talked about scheduling and rules and guidelines and emergency numbers and CPR and first aid. Today we went to Rock Valley Christian where we had breakfast and then listened to a police officer/cop who deals with child pornography and internet crimes and he goes undercover to catch scumbags. But the main thing we talked about was "Cyberbullying" and "sexting". Very interesting stuff. Then we heard a man who worked for a non-profit organization in the area and he talked about going beyond the normal expectations and make a difference. He was a really good speaker. That is a very very general description of his speech but ask if you would like to know more.

Then this afternoon we talked to an aflac guy and my principal asked us to take pictures and figure out how to load them on the computer and make them smaller. Elizabeth (the 7th/8th grade teacher) and I went outside to take pictures of ourselves because we were under the impression that we had to take pictures of ourselves and put them on the website!...so we took some funny pictures and then the pre-school teacher came with us and it was grand. haha

LASTLY!
I got up at 6:15AM and went for a run. Yup. crazy I know. But my goal is to get up at 6am and go walking or running or biking before school! we will see if i can motivate myself to do it...but I am still proud of doing it for one day! :)
