Oh School...

Well today during lunch the conversation was once again "What if...blah blah...rained from the sky!?" They come up with some crazy things to fall from the sky...but today my favorite was "bunnies driving payloaders raining from the sky". Where their minds go...I just don't know!

At recess a little girl came up to me and said that she hurt her ankle...my response: You are walking okay hun! I think you can walk it off."

Also at recess one of my students got hit "in a bad place" and he was laying on the ground. I asked him he was going to make it and he started giggling and ran away.

Oh children. It is one of my student's birthdays today and he was SO excited! Its fun to see how much joy birthdays can bring :)

Some of my favorite quotes in the classroom so far:

Student1: My dad takes a newspaper with him when he takes a shower.
Student2: Does the newspaper get wet?
Student1: No. I think he has an umbrella in there.
Student2: Well how does he get clean then?
Student1: I don't know. I think he is scared of water.

Student: Chocolate is like the worst thing for you. Well...actually maybe drugs. (walks to his seat and giggles to himself)

Student: A guy was driving a tractor down the road...drinking beers.

Student: The reason I don’t get invited to people’s houses is because I don’t invite people to my house because I am busy all the time.” ----what is a 2nd grader busy with all the time?!___________________________________________
My students have also thought that farting is hilarious this week. At the beginning of the week I asked my first graders what they do to make other people laugh and one student said "I tell people they farted when they really didn't hahahah"

What do you do when inappropriate things are brought up in the classroom but you don't know if they know it is inappropriate?! Any suggestions??

Life has all of a sudden gotten busy!! With meetings...Thanksgiving dinners...staff suppers...and I am starting to help out with a Youth for Christ Middle School thing on Tuesday nights. Their energy level is crazy! Next week Wednesday I fly home for Thanksgiving break! Whoa!!

Yesterday I read some Dr. Seuss books to the kiddos at the end of the day. I caught myself wanting to rhyme everything after that. :)
