It is the weekend

So my first week of student teaching is officially over. Three days of teaching...well in a way two and a half because of early dismissal on friday. I am getting really really excited for teaching next week and just being in the classroom. Next week I am starting to teach calendar, review, read aloud, and math. Math...i get to teach math my entire time of being here (i keep on typing and hearing a New York accent). My cooperating teacher is from New York and has a pretty strong accent still, maybe its because she just went there over Christmas. But i have been noticing that some things i say, while at school, are in a very slight New York accent. Which is weird. Maybe it is all in my head.
There are random stray dogs sitting outside of our school when I leave. Just hanging out, wandering around. It is kinda weird. Also, a stray dog got into our school today...walked right down the hallway. My teacher said to me 'Did you see that? A dog was just walking down the hallway. Oh well.' I guess that is normal at my school.
I think i am getting my teacher excited again! She is taking out so many new things to use and giving me so many good ideas. She just started a reading program and the kids read to us daily, which is awesome since four or five kids are at risk or high risk students who are struggling a lot academically. I went with my teacher to some sst meetings, which are meetings for at risk/high risk students. Their parents are asked to come but out of the three, only one kid's parents came. It was really interesting though.
Also..one of my students has gotten an in school suspension...first grade.
