My First Dutch Ice Skating Experience

Today Annie's family came over by our house to go ice skating. So Lita, Arie, Gerjan, Julian, Audrey and I went outside to join. Audrey watched from the side while i attempted to skate on the old fashioned skates where you keep your shoes on and strap the skate on. Let me tell you...it was hard. Anne (Annie's dad) helped me out quite a bit. Annie also helped me out with Janita (Annie's mom, which i am not sure if i spelled her name right). Then i switched over to Lita's skates which were better but still not very good. I am used to the skates that go up over your ankles. I wasn't going to go but Janita told me that they don't normally have good ice like this and this maybe the only time i could do it while i was here. So, i decided to give it a try. Luckily i didn't fall...although Arie accomplished that for me. He fell pretty hard on the ice. It was fun though, i must admit. Yesterday Arie, Lita, Julian, Annie, Audrey and I went to the market. It was pretty sweet. We got stroopwaffels while we were there and some cheese :)

This is Lita, Gerjan, Arie, Anne and Janita on the canal outside our house.
